In this bespoked home we just completed at Bukit Damansara how we first started with our client was not a concept, nor color scheme nor design.

It was just simply sitting down to talk, for hours, about how they live. What they want AND not want.
And listen.
Listening to everyone, to each family members on how they start their day right down to how they unwind to bed.

Simple rituals
Daily activities
Even about how they cook
What old furnitures they want to reuse.
Artworks?
Anything of sentimental values need to be integrated into this space inlike designing an office.

A story if the family will add interest sometimes. Maybe a travelling trip, maybe a memorable event.

Then we draw the space, plan the circulations.

Then we design the rooms, flooors, walls, and gradually the space comes together. Materials and colors, lightings, the touch of things, the vibes, the feel. ( sometimes people call this 3D renders but it is actually more than that)

And we still havent done even 20% of the design works.

This is interior designing for a residential space. A space where the clients eventually call it Their Home.

We recently received news that FLOUR Restaurant has closed after six meaningful years.
It’s bittersweet — because this was one of those projects we poured so much heart into.
I still remember the day we first walked into the site with Chef Yogesh in 2019.
The house stood quietly under the sun — worn, parts in ruins, but still standing. Ceilings collapsing but, a caretaker still living within the ruins.
Yet beneath it all, we could feel its beauty — a 1930s colonial bungalow with proud gable roofs and a beautiful spiral concrete staircase
I told our client right there and then — we have to keep this. We need to preserve the façade, recycle whatever we can, and keep its soul intact.
When the structural engineer came in, we found out the building had no reinforced concrete structure at all.
It was standing, but fragile.
So we carefully opened up the walls, inserted new columns and beams, rebuilt the roof — all while protecting that original façade and its proportions.

We later discovered the roof tiles were original clay roofs, nearly 70 years old, imported from Malakar
Each tile was removed by hand and recycled back.

Inside, we opened up the small rooms into a continuous dining journey —
the curved front room became the VIP room, the attic transformed into a third private dining space,
and the old spiral staircase was lovingly restored,

The concept was inspired by the colors of Indian cuisine —
the reds and pinks of spices, the greens of herbs, the warmth of the kitchen translated into stone, light, and texture.
We added a glasshouse dining area facing what would one day become the TRX skyline —
back then, it was just cranes and scaffolding,
Six years later, even as FLOUR closes its doors, I’ll always remember it as the little colonial home that came back to life

This is Sunway Velocity project designed by MIL Design & Construction which has won the Bronze Award in the Commercial – Common & Facilities Area category at last week’s DOTY 2026 — Designer of the Year Interior Design Awards.

This project spans approximately 60,000 sq ft interior spaces including lift foyers and unit corridors across all 47 floors of Tower A and Tower B.

We designed the communal facilities as shared spaces for residents —
with a strong focus on community living and connection.

The concept integrates green living principles — natural ventilation, green lungs, and spaces that breathe.
These areas are thoughtfully planned for families, children, and the elderly, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity.

Pathways are wheelchair-friendly, ensuring accessibility for all.

Spaces include:
Co-working rooms, reading rooms for both adults and children, games rooms, karaoke rooms of different sizes, lobby areas, gym, and yoga spaces.

Grateful to the team, collaborators, and clients who made this possible.

A story told in timbers and blues
A home we did where layers of textures and colors come together to create a unique living space.

Ever felt like you've walked into a timeless masterpiece? That's the magic of classic ceiling cornices! They add an old school elegance and sophistication with intricate patterns and seamless blends.

During our recent project for this bungalow at Seputeh cornices are blended with modern design to give character to the home, aligning it with the owner's love for English classics and vintage art collections.

Each style of the cornice we used tells its own story and transforms a room into something extraordinary.

From the double column high ceilings of the living and dining to the smaller walkways, study and bedrooms they are used to bring out the ambiance of each space and nook differently.

Door in black marquina marble architraves and walls in simplified wainscoting as well as subtle arches and curved panels in cabinetry are used to blend in.

What we wanted was to keep it in a simple classic look instead of going overboard to maintain a timeless home

We’re turning 16 this February!!

Before that, a pause to acknowledge 2025-A year of growth, gratitude, and milestones.
It came with challenges, but we delivered.
We grew.
We fought well. Won some, lost some.
And most importantly, we still have happy clients. Very happy, in fact.

2025 marked 15 years of transforming spaces.
We’re thankful for our clients’ trust and for being on this journey together, creating spaces with meaning.
As we step into our 16th year, this feels like a new beginning —
a new phase, a new studio,
and a continued commitment to doing the work properly.
