SUMMITS takes the stage again - tomorrow at MIHAS Modest Fashion Week.

Inspired by the peaks of Southeast Asia, SUMMITS traces their distinctive contours into a shared visual language - a celebration of heritage, connection and the heights we reach together.

Rooted in the ancestral craft traditions of Sarawak, the collection brings songket, pua kumbu ikat and indigenous anyaman into contemporary fashion, carrying the hands and stories behind each craft into a new expression.

We have seen rural artisans reach global markets, heritage skills find contemporary relevants, persons with disabilities contribute to work seen at the highest levels, traditional knowledge offer solutions for sustainability, and overlooked communities become essential contributors in times of crisis.

Talent, knowledge and possibility exist everywhere. What is not equally distributed is access to opportunity.

This is why NIF2027 matters to us.

We want to bring different perspectives, disciplines and lived experiences together to ask how we can dismantle the barriers that prevent people, communities and our environment from contributing meaningfully to our shared future.

From experiencing the intricate process of songket weaving through our specialised Weave Fun activity, to discovering Sarawak’s woven crafts and community-made products, the celebration offers a glimpse into the people, skills and traditions behind each piece.

Our final MMFW Fashion Forum brings together Dato' Jacqueline Fong (Tanoti) , Mr Goh Seow Chin and Dr Sharifah Shawati, moderated by Ms Bkay Nair, to examine how style, elegance and commercial positioning are shaping The New Modest Luxury.
