Part 3|《风里的记忆》Memories in the wind 🤍
This project marks the first exhibition that includes all students from our studio. In previous exhibitions, we usually selected only a small group of students to showcase their works. This time, we wanted to create an opportunity for everyone to participate, regardless of their age or skill level. We believe that every student deserves to be seen and appreciated.
Instead of encouraging students to join competitions, we chose to involve them in an exhibition. Every child has their own way of seeing and expressing the world, and it is difficult to measure creativity through comparison. We hope this experience helps students build confidence and feel comfortable sharing their ideas without fear of judgement.
Before starting, we invited students to draw a moment that they remember most clearly in their life in Muar. The theme, “My Moment in Muar", allowed them to reflect on their own experiences. During the process, many students chose to draw their birthdays, family members, and time spent with their parents. This reminded us that what children value most are simple moments of attention and companionship.
We also observed that older students often found it more difficult to generate ideas compared to younger children. This reflects how, as we grow up, we may become more focused on outcomes and expectations and less connected to imagination. This project is also a reminder to slow down, to observe, and to reconnect with the small moments in everyday life.
