Most people think great interiors are about colours, furniture, and finishes.

But lighting is often what makes a space feel right.

A well-designed lighting plan isn’t just about making a room brighter. It’s about creating layers, guiding attention, and supporting the way you live throughout the day.

Here are some key principles we consider when designing lighting:

• Ambient Lighting — The foundation that provides overall illumination.
• Task Lighting — Focused light where activities happen, whether cooking, reading, working, or getting ready.
• Accent Lighting — Highlights artwork, textures, architectural details, and focal points.
• Layering — Combining different light sources to create depth, flexibility, and mood.
• Balance & Contrast — Controlling brightness to make spaces feel comfortable and visually interesting.
• Colour Temperature — Warm, neutral, or cool light can dramatically influence the atmosphere of a room.
• Natural Light Integration — Designing with daylight, not against it.

The best lighting often goes unnoticed.

You don’t walk into a beautifully lit space and think about the lights. You simply feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home.
