Most people think great interiors are about colours, furniture, and finishes.

But lighting is often what makes a space feel right.

A well-designed lighting plan isn’t just about making a room brighter. It’s about creating layers, guiding attention, and supporting the way you live throughout the day.

Here are some key principles we consider when designing lighting:

• Ambient Lighting — The foundation that provides overall illumination.
• Task Lighting — Focused light where activities happen, whether cooking, reading, working, or getting ready.
• Accent Lighting — Highlights artwork, textures, architectural details, and focal points.
• Layering — Combining different light sources to create depth, flexibility, and mood.
• Balance & Contrast — Controlling brightness to make spaces feel comfortable and visually interesting.
• Colour Temperature — Warm, neutral, or cool light can dramatically influence the atmosphere of a room.
• Natural Light Integration — Designing with daylight, not against it.

The best lighting often goes unnoticed.

You don’t walk into a beautifully lit space and think about the lights. You simply feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home.

Then the key arrives. The renovation budget is set.
And the reality hits differently.

Too many references. Too many styles. Too many decisions.
What felt inspiring becomes overwhelming.

That’s where we come in.

We translate your Pinterest board into a cohesive, buildable design direction—shaped around your space, your lifestyle, and your budget.

Not just inspiration. A home that actually makes sense for you.

Most people start a renovation thinking about aesthetics. The spaces that actually work — years later — started somewhere else entirely.

Here are 4 principles we apply to every KORT project before a single material gets specified:

01 — A cohesive vision first. Not a Pinterest board of things you like, but a clear brief: how this home should feel, room to room, as a whole.

02 — Layout before everything. The best finishes in the world won’t save a kitchen that fights your daily routine.

03 — Invest in the pieces that stay. Trends are fine for soft furnishings. Your joinery, flooring, and key furniture? Buy once, buy well.

04 — Light is a material. Plan your lighting layers the way you plan your walls — ambient, task, accent. It changes everything.

Swipe through. Save this for when you’re ready to start.

Where geometry meets tranquility.

Exploring the intricate balance of ventilation blocks and circular motifs in our latest facade study. Architecture isn’t just about space; it’s about how light interacts with it.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

From the monolithic exterior to the serene, light-filled corners of the interior, every detail in this project by KORTSTUDIO was designed to breathe.

We focused on a monochrome palette, sharp geometric lines, and the play of natural light to create a home that feels like a sanctuary.

Tranquil Minimalism

Minimalism isn’t about the absence of things; it’s about the perfect presence of what matters. In this project, we focused on a monochromatic palette of soft greys, warm oaks, and marble accents to create a home that breathes.

We designed this space to be a sanctuary from the outside world—where the light hits just right through the venetian blinds and every corner offers a moment of tranquility.

Where Precision Meets Poetry.

Great design isn’t just about the final reveal; it’s about the mathematical precision of a kerfed wood arch and the seamless integration of light and texture. From the structural skeletons to the tactile finish of fluted paneling and brushed brass inlays, we obsess over the details that others might overlook.

This project is a study in material harmony—balancing warm oaks, textured fabrics, and architectural lighting to create a space that feels as good as it looks.

Nature’s own art gallery.

We believe that selecting the right stone is about more than just visual aesthetics— it’s about how the texture and movement interact with light and space.

Whether you’re leaning toward the earthy richness of Rosso Levanto or the crisp elegance of Calcatta Gold, we’re here to help you find your perfect match.
