YANG DI-PERTUA NEGERI SARAWAK CONVEYS GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER GREETINGS, HIGHLIGHTS SARAWAK’S SPIRIT OF UNITY
KUCHING, 2 April — The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Her Most Gracious Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, and their family, conveys his respectful greetings and warmest wishes to Christians throughout Sarawak in conjunction with the observance of Good Friday tomorrow and the celebration of Easter.
In his message, the Head of State described the occasion as a meaningful time of reflection and renewal, underscoring the enduring values of understanding and harmony that define Sarawak’s multicultural society.
He observed that the state’s unique social fabric continues to be strengthened by the close bonds shared among its people, where individuals of different faiths and backgrounds come together in mutual respect, visiting one another and celebrating important occasions in a spirit of goodwill.
“Simple gestures such as sharing meals, exchanging greetings, and extending care to one another reflect the true essence of unity that we cherish,” he said.
Despite differences in faith, he noted that the people of Sarawak remain united by common values of compassion, kindness, and respect, principles that continue to sustain peace and cohesion within the community.
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri expressed hope that the occasion would bring joy, peace, and comfort to those celebrating, while serving as a reminder of the importance of family, togetherness, and shared humanity.
He also called on all communities to continue nurturing the spirit of unity and mutual respect, ensuring that the harmony enjoyed in Sarawak remains strong and enduring for future generations.
