LESSON 8 — The Power of Networking and Staying Connected

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned in 10 years of Structured Spaces is this:

Relationships build businesses.

In the early days, I thought success would come only from doing great work, designing beautiful spaces, delivering projects, and moving on to the next client.

But experience taught me something deeper.

Your clients are not just transactions.
They are relationships.

When you stay connected…
When you check in…
When you nurture those relationships…

Something powerful happens.

Clients remember you.
They trust you.
They recommend you.
And they come back.

Many of our opportunities at Structured Spaces today came not from advertisements, but from relationships built over time.

Networking is not just exchanging contacts.

It’s building genuine connections and nurturing them with care.

Just like a well-designed space, relationships need attention to stay beautiful.

Most people believe mosquitoes come because a home is dirty.

But here’s something many homeowners don’t realise:

Mosquitoes are rarely about cleanliness.

They respond more to environmental design : airflow, lighting, moisture, landscaping, and tiny entry points we often overlook.

I’ve walked into beautifully maintained homes where everything looked spotless… yet mosquitoes were everywhere.

And the reason was never “poor hygiene.”

It was:

• hidden water sources quietly breeding them
• still air creating comfort zones
• lighting that attracts insects unknowingly (white light)
• tiny openings allowing entry
• landscaping that holds moisture and shade

Design affects how a home behaves, not just how it looks.

A wholesome home is safe, breathable, and intentional.

Sometimes the solution isn’t cleaning more, it’s designing smarter.
