Throw back to 8 years ago, Frankfurt.

I stumbled on these pictures and memories of that time wrapped my heart in their gentle palms. I feel nostalgic thinking about the different hats I have worn as an entrepreneur, the journey to here, the high and not-so-high moments. In particular, I remember Heimtextil, Europe’s biggest fair for furnishing fabrics, where I sometimes went to source original fabrics for my soft furnishing projects. I’m primarily an Interior Decorator who ventured into the production of handmade Afro centric items. The Messe Frankfurt was usually the venue for Heimtextil and for three or four days I would immerse myself in rows and rows of fabric displays, meeting manufacturers and sales reps of different companies. I loved those days. Oh, how I loved them! I could write a book of those experiences. So, whenever I feel discouraged with running a business in a difficult economy, I look to the past and say to myself, “Vivian, you’ve come a long away. Keep moving.”
