SWANS: Females in Art — 3rd Edition (2026)
A Celebration of Women Artists
Signature Beyond Art Gallery proudly presents the third edition of SWANS: Females in Art, a curated exhibition dedicated to amplifying the voices, visions, and creative expressions of women artists within the contemporary African art space.
Opening from Saturday, 16th May to Saturday, 23rd May 2026, this exhibition brings together a compelling group of emerging and established artists whose works traverse painting and sculpture, offering a rich and layered exploration of identity, femininity, and artistic individuality.
The exhibition features works by Victoria Somawine, Tayo Ayelowo, Precious Longret Samuel, Naomi Oyeniyi, Adeola Ablesworth Obagun, Hyacinth Goddess, and Patience Adekunle, alongside Christianah Odunayo, Onesa Oruoghor, Eberechukwu Lucia, Omoyiwola Oluwatimileyin, Urama Onyinyechukwu, Olúwayémisi Abéjidé, Adesakin Mary Damilola, and Igwe Sandra Chiamaka.
Together, these artists present a diverse visual language—ranging from intimate figurative compositions to expressive abstractions and sculptural forms. Their works reflect personal narratives, cultural consciousness, and evolving interpretations of womanhood in today’s society.
Notably, the inclusion of sculptors within the exhibition introduces a tactile dimension, expanding the dialogue beyond the canvas and into physical space. These sculptural interventions engage material, form, and presence, reinforcing the exhibition’s commitment to multidimensional storytelling.
SWANS continues to grow as a platform that not only celebrates artistic excellence but also fosters visibility and recognition for women in the arts. Each edition builds upon this vision, creating space for meaningful engagement between artists, collectors, and the wider public.
Hosted at Signature Beyond Art Gallery, 107 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, the exhibition invites viewers to experience a thoughtful convergence of talent, perspective, and creative energy.
This third edition stands as both a continuation and a statement—affirming the vital role of women artists in shaping the present and future of contemporary African art.
