It's easier to appreciate a crochet piece than the effort and sacrifices that go into making it.

This crochet blazer was my first huge granny-square project. It was fun and stressful at the same time. It was fun because I got to work with different colours and stressful because I had to keep cutting and joining yarns and squares.

There were days when I didn't crochet because I had to juggle classes, assignment deadlines and fellowship meetings. Other times, I ran out of some yarn colours and it took a while before I could get the exact shades I was working with. There were also long days with no electricity, making it impossible for me to crochet into the night.

These and many more, are some of the circumstances that go on behind the scenes of every finished crochet piece.

Beyond appreciating crochet pieces, take a moment to appreciate the effort, patience, and silent strength behind every stitch. Every crochet masterpiece has a story of perseverance woven into it.
