Here are three common mistakes we've seen people make and are calling out!
First is over styling
In design, less is more, but we see people who have no proper knowledge of design go all out to buy high-end marble trays, designer books, and expensive sculptural objects only to end up crowding them onto one single coffee table. Luxury needs breathing room; if the eye doesn't have a place to rest, it just ends up becoming clutter. Use the rule of thirds: leave at least one-third of the surface completely empty so the pieces you actually want to showcase can breathe.
Second is the showroom overload
Filling a room with trending statement pieces where every single item in the space is competing to be the main character ends up making the room feel overwhelming instead of curated. Settle on picking one absolute hero piece for the room, like a bold sofa or a massive light fixture and let every other item play a supporting role.
And the third is neglecting cable management.
We might be shaking a table with this, but spending thousands on an automated smart setup and not going the extra mile to cover the chaotic web of black wires underneath ruins the entire aesthetic. Invest in custom conduit tracks or wire routing boxes during the construction phase to hide them completely.
True luxury isn’t just about how much you can fit into a space just because you can afford it. It’s about having the restraint to let high-quality materials and architecture speak for themselves.
