Silent Saturday.

A day suspended between endings and beginnings.
Between the weight of the stone and the promise of its rolling away.

The Lamb of God has been laid to rest —
the silence is not empty, but full.
Full of waiting. Full of breath held by the world itself.

No trumpets, no miracles, no movement.
Only the quiet echo of what has been…
and the faint, almost imperceptible whisper of what is to come.

This is the day of stillness.
Of shadows stretching long before dawn.
Of faith without proof.

And yet —
beyond the horizon, unseen but certain,
the first sunrays are already

A little Christmas… with Easter ✨
During my recent trip through Poland, I discovered a small batch of dead stock: semi-vintage Fabergé-style eggs. Not mass-produced, but a handful of unique pieces – only a few of each model and color.

Even the most delicate figures can carry great strength.

International Women’s Day

Today I am thinking of the women behind — and within — these ornaments.
The glass may look fragile, the figures graceful and fine, but they stand for something far stronger.

For generations it has often been women who painted the ornaments, who added the glitter, who gave the glass its character and soul. Quiet work at small tables, steady hands, patience, precision — turning something as fragile as blown glass into a little object of joy.

And then there are the women on the ornaments themselves: dancers, angels, ladies in gowns, poised and elegant. They may look delicate, but look closer — they carry centuries of stories, craftsmanship and resilience.

Fragile? Perhaps.
Strong? Without a doubt.

To all the women who create, inspire and keep beauty alive in the smallest details of the world.

✨ Happy International Women’s Day ✨

It’s a wrap. ✨

We’ve seen thousands of ornaments, met the people who make them and who carry Christmas in their hearts all year long. We travelled through beautiful towns and landscapes, drove endless country roads, braved the cold and enjoyed the sun. We stayed in wonderful places and tasted the best local dishes along the way.

Everywhere we went we soaked up the genius loci — the spirit of the places where these little treasures are born.

And now comes the hardest part: choosing. Choosing what will become part of the upcoming season. Some pieces will be made exclusively for our collection, others will be adapted to our — and ultimately your — taste, just as you’ve come to expect from us.

So if you have a particular wish, a dream ornament, or a Christmas craving… now is the moment to tell us.
We might just be able to make it happen. 🎄

Day 6 of the Quest for the Best. ✨

And again the tables were filled with colour and the most traditional shapes. The classic round baubles in every size and shade imaginable. The elegant oval forms, the so-called olives. The sleek rockets — sometimes called kajaks. Reflectors, of course. And all the wonderful variations and combinations of these timeless forms.

Many of these shapes are free-blown, which gives them that subtle liveliness — never perfectly identical, always carrying the trace of the glassblower’s breath and hand.

In the Czech Republic many factories work with a particularly fine, thinner glass. Glass that is too delicate to be blown in heavy iron moulds. Instead, special ceramic moulds are used — a technique that allows this refined glass to hold its shape while preserving its elegance and lightness.

It is a different rhythm of making. More fragile perhaps, but incredibly beautiful.

And as the journey continues, the abundance only grows… and so does the agony of choice. ✨

I am taking a little break, the Quest for the Best is not over but after an utterly cold and rainy week I am enjoying the sun in the High Tatra mountains this weekend. Next week ready for some treasure hunting in Czech Republic.

There are places that make your heart go boom boom.

Not because they are polished.
Not because they are perfect.
But because they are real.

A factory at the end of a muddy road. Grey walls. A door that sticks when you push it open. The air inside is warm, slightly metallic, carrying the scent of hot glass and glue. No showroom gloss. No curated storyboards. Just long tables, lamps, trays of glitter, jars of pigments — and hands. So many hands.

Here, Christmas is not a trend. It is a craft.
The people who work here carry Christmas in their bones. You see it in the way they handle a fragile ornament — not as product, but as promise. In the quiet pride when a tray of finished pieces catches the light. In the laughter when glitter ends up everywhere except where it was meant to be.

Factories like this make your heart beat faster because they are built on devotion. On repetition. On stubborn continuity in a world that moves too fast.

Unpolished. Honest. Full of love and hard work.
