A set of two small but fine Dutch Delft vases in Chinese Kangxi porcelain style.
Decorated in a wonderful, deep dark blue on a clear white ground. On the body, we see two figures playing the game of Go. On the other side, we find a rock formation and foliage.
The tops of the vases are adorned with silver (of a later date), which makes them look even more luxurious, although this was probably done to repair damage to the tops.
Curiously marked 1184.
Made in Delft, the Netherlands, circa 1700.
Workshop unknown.
The vases are in excellent condition, with normal superficial wear and small chips, as expected for their age.
- The tops of the vases were cut and mounted with silver.
