My favorite tools for making a quilt are gingher scissors, 50 wt cotton Amman thread and Appliquer Longues needles no. 12 from Bohin. And yes I love to hand stitch but that doesn’t mean I never use a sewing machine. In fact I use hand and machine stitches in the same quilt. Just use whatever method is the best for that job. Make it the easiest and best way for you!

Finally back into my quilt mojo. Picked some fabric, did some more designing and now it is time to start sewing. Do you have these long pauzes in quiltmaking? Stuck into Neverland ?
Hope I am out of it now and am in quilting heaven during the time I need to finish it.

This cold weather asks for a woolen hat. A self knitted fair isle hat. When I saw Alison Rendalls aka pattern I was sold. But It had to be knitted in MY colors! The supersoft Alpaca mix yarn was a dream to knit and I finished it in no time. A sage scarf I had for years incidentally matched. Happy warm set! Maybe one day I knit a matching pair of mittens. Any pattern suggestions for that?

Last night, I received this quilt centre piece from .janssen, and it brought back memories of designing and making quilts in the old Quilt it & Dotty days. Now it's my turn to add borders or blocks and watch it grow. The colors perfectly capture the snowy light outside and I'm inspired to make another quilt in 2026!
