For Beginnings & Endings at 3daysofdesign 2026, Tarkett Official invited each designer inside one of our factories to see and understand the changing states of materials as they move through Tarkett’s circular systems.

Yinka Ilori has been working with DESSO carpets; a heritage product for Tarkett, and a material of deep interest to Yinka for its use across global cultures when it comes to ritual activities — from eating to prayer, meditation and sleeping.

We are proud to share that THE UNEXPECTED LIVING has been awarded 1st Prize. 🏆

Showcased at Expo Estilo Pilar in Argentina, the project proposes a spatial experience that expands the imagination of traditionally technical materials, bringing them into the realm of everyday living.

Through the use of iQ Surface homogeneous flooring, the concept demonstrates the material’s versatility beyond healthcare environments—extending its application to floors, walls, and furniture. To create contrast and warmth, DESSO Essence carpets were incorporated, featuring interventions by Guillermo Tragant, alongside designs of DESSO X Rens —reinforcing a strong commitment to sustainability.

The project brings together aesthetic experimentation, material innovation, and a strong environmental awareness.

Circularity is an environmental necessity, but it’s also an opportunity to innovate, create value, and build resilience. That’s why, for over a decade, we’ve placed it at the heart of our mission.

Last year at Milan Design Week, we brought the Beauty of Circularity to life — an immersive journey through our carpet and linoleum flooring. From shreds of reclaimed linoleum, cork and wood powders, to shredded EcoBase backing, polyolefin and nylon granules, and finished products — each stage is a physical manifestation of our circular processes in action.

These stages celebrate the power of both organic and technical materials, and the role we all play in moving towards a more circular future.
