My buddy showed me how to make a wooden bowl a little while ago and this is my first attempt at turning after that. Extremely satisfying and addictive work!

Here’s the little guy I carved more or less ‘live on IG’ yesterday. A neat kids spoon or a hiking spoon...? Who knows? It will depend om its owner i guess. 😊👌🏻
The wood is and the spoon is using folding knife and spoon knife (nr164, i believe). and bathed in . It really glows, and feels good in hand. DM if you’re interested. @ Bergen, Hordaland

Soon will demonstrate and teach archaeology students at UiB (University in Bergen) a couple handy skills; bronze casting, making iron and blacksmithing. We have done this for some years now (4?) and I suspect we treasure it even more than the students do. If I could do traditional crafts every day... 🤩

Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to lately, apart from family life, dog life and preparing my cabin for sale life. A little sleep, a lot of coffee, wish there would be more carving/whittling and blacksmithing, but for now this will have to suffice.
My hands ache from not wielding my hammer... something has to be done about that... Just wait and see, I have a plan. 😁 @ Bergen, Hordaland

🪓 Axe class last saturday 🪓

I had four late cansellations, but decided to do the course anyway. We dedicated the whole day to our axes and the progression they made was almost startling. Quick learners with sharp tools = good times!
We made a couple «blanks»/ knife ready pieces in green wood ( ) and , and then we tried my dry and puuuuurrrdy spalted birch after lunch. I suspect those spoons and spatulas will look amazing. Can’t wait to see them, & . 🤩 @ Bergen, Hordaland
