My name is Sylwia and hebridoodle is my endeavor to create beautiful things. I am a trained art conservator with over 10 years of experience. I was always interested in textiles; knitting, sewing and embroidery were hobby. The story behind hebridoodle started when I moved to the Isle of Lewis. Since coming to Hebrides I was fascinated with Harris Tweed, its history and amassing quality. This 100% woolen fabric is still hand woven by islanders in theirs homes. It is such a beautiful fabric and such a wonder to work with. Now, I live in north Norway, a land of aurora borealis in the winter and midnight sun in the summer. Norway have a reach heritage in knitting, weaving and embroidery. I am planning to explore it and incorporate it in my craft.
