A couple of weeks ago we did a day trip to Vichy where I used to live back in the day. We don’t do that so often when we are in France. But every time we do, we go to Aux Marocains to buy delicious chocolates and “Le Marocain candies. I like to visit it not only for the candy but also because this historic chocolate and confectionery shop which was established in 1866 is famous for its preserved Second Empire interior and Art Deco storefront. When you walk into the door it feels like going back to the past. When I asked the boutique owner about the painting, she told me that they managed to recreate the original recipe of the Alma, a praline made from almonds and hazelnuts enveloped in a royal sugary icing created in 1854. She proudly said that the link between the shop and the bonbon (candy) of the second empire is therefore created.

Those of you who know me well, or have followed my account here on Instagram for a while know that I love vintage textiles.
Especially vintage French linen textiles.
I love sourcing them at the French flea markets during our summers in France, bring them back to Norway and giving them a second life by turning them into pillows, bags and whatever else I can come up with.
This time I created a flower bouquet bag. 🌸
I like the idea of buying flowers at the flower shop (or in this case picking wild flowers) and carrying them home in a pretty handmade bag like this. Or gifting your friend or host flowers this way. It’s just a little extra and so much more stylish. Plus it’s a nice way to use left over fabrics from other projects. A win, win in my eyes. 😊🌸

Yesterday I was so lucky to be invited by to their luncheon at the French Residence in Oslo.

A day that was filled with inspirational lectures, good food and drinks. Beautiful table settings with plates, silverware and glassware from Royal Copenhagen which you can find at

It was especially lovely and very special to hear about the history of the Residence and to have a rare view of the most gorgeous antique ceramic plates, glasses and silverware that and were allowed to style the coffee table with for us to admire.

All in all it was a wonderful and inspiring day. So here is a big thank you to for yet again putting together a lovely event for all their members. And thank you and .delikatesser for the generous goodie bags you provided.

While Lucas and a friend were busy with an Easter craft, Lucas started to mix up some beautiful pastel colors that caught my eye. They inspired me to put together a little Easter mood board.

It’s been a while since I have used a pillow from my own collection in a project. But in my latest project I was able to incorporate the Bosporus pillow. Love how it looks with a blue fl**ge (border)

Did you know that the colors you choose for your home can impact your mood and feeling of a space?
Research shows that the wavelength of different colors and hues affect how we relate to them.

* To create a calm, balanced, serene and restful space like a bedroom, use colors that evoke calm and harmony. Green for example reduces visual stress and fatigue, while blue lowers your heart frequency.

* To create an energizing, creative and productive space like a home office, or hobby room, vibrant colors like yellow and orange create energy and boost self-esteem and mental activity. So does purple. It sparks creativity and passion.

* For your living room or dining room you can invite nature in by shades of green, brown and blues to create balance and harmony.

So when you want to repaint a room in your house, don’t ask yourself what color should I paint this room in? But find out first how you want to use this space? What do you need from this space? And what emotion or mood do you want to evoke here?”

As an interior designer, I of course do follow up on trends. But when it comes to the home, there are no “ins and outs” for me. I believe that our homes are a reflection of who we are. They shape our nervous system more than we realize. Our surroundings influence our mood, stress and emotional regulation.
