The garden room at Villa W is more than an interior overlooking the greenery. It is the point where the house shifts in tone, becoming more informal and more closely connected to the landscape.

Here, Graziosi Progetti bv and Contempera | Interiors chose our Redondo armchair. Its continuous, soft and recognisable form brings a more intimate and sensory quality to a space otherwise defined by transparency and openness.

The 2000s opened up a different relationship with the past: one in which familiar codes could be taken apart, mixed and rewritten.

With Bohemian, designed by Patricia Urquiola in 2008, the traditional language of button tufting becomes something more fluid and unexpected. Upholstery seems to melt over the structure, while different materials and techniques overlap in a kind of contemporary patchwork.

Craft and industry, memory and experimentation coexist within the same object.
A project that reflects a decade in which design increasingly looked at tradition not as something to preserve unchanged, but as material to transform.

Some furniture pieces transcend trends and become true icons. Their influence extends far beyond their original purpose, shaping the way we think about comfort, ergonomics, craftsmanship, and timeless style.
A few of the most celebrated chairs in design history include:

• The Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman – Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956, this masterpiece redefined luxury seating by combining molded plywood with supple leather. Decades later, it remains one of the most recognizable and sought-after chairs in the world.

Geometriæ, a project by , redefines seating as a perceptual experience.
Each form originates on paper, drawn in pencil or watercolor, where light, shadow, and surfaces follow a painterly logic. These studies are then translated into jacquard-woven textiles, becoming fully realized three-dimensional objects.

“The shadow we perceive is not produced by light, but inscribed within the surfaces themselves.”
The result is a subtle balance between image and volume, where geometry and perception meet in an ambiguous, shifting space. Forms transform depending on the viewer’s perspective, inviting movement, exploration, and active engagement.

More than functional objects, these pieces narrate their own process of formation, questioning how we see, and imagine, space.
