Astrid’s Fingerprint blanket
It all started playing with a very powerful magnifying glass… and my thumb hooked me. What took forever was deciding colours, it is probably the one blanket which I drew in most colour combinations. And when Scheepjes was launching new shades of their Catona cotton line, the blues were so many, that I went for all of them!

🧡 Astrid’s Cotton Candy blanket 🧡
When I heard that Scheepjes was launching 37 new of its 100% cotton Catona shades, I went straight to the drawing table. I wanted a “colour sampler” that would show the new shades as in a colour card. I stayed away from making just squares with each colour, so I came up with this simple, but bright pattern with hearts. This was my choice of colours, but this blanket allows for any colour combination and is a great stash buster!

It started with the rainbow edge… I don’t throw any yarn away (of course) and had so many small bits of yarn stashed. And I had drawn this bird a while back which also takes small bits of yarn, so decided to make the perfect stash-buster blanket! So, it became Birds on a wire…

Astrid’s Pearl blanket

In 2024 I made a wall hanging for Scheepjes with Dutch masters, and the Girl with the Pearl Earring from Vermeer was in it. That wall hanging was a one time, no pattern published project, but I always wanted to make just a stand-alone girl. This is my interpretation of it, as if drawn by Piet Mondrian.

This blanket is made in interlocking crochet, and the pattern comes with instructions on the technique itself, plus photo tutorials on how to get started and how to make the colour changes.

I used Scheepjes Stone Washed, 803 Black Onyx for the drawings, and many colours for the rest. A list of all colours used is included in the pattern, as well as how many grams of each, and added a “colouring page” for you to create your own colour scheme.

🟥🟨 Astrid’s Squares of colour blanket 🟩🟦
The intention was playing with colours, and the transition between them. There are over 100 colours in the Scheepjes Catona range, so I had to restrict myself to a few, otherwise it would have been enormous! The background is made in the same blue as the drawings, so it is extra solid blue to highlight the colours even more.

Astrid’s The hug blanket
I made this drawing a while back, trying to depict an imaginary hug and its feeling. Also, I always like the colours in the back of my blankets when the A colour is black. The front has lots of colours, but the back is mostly black. I wanted to bring that feeling to the front of the blanket in this one. I really like the way it looks!

🔮 Astrid’s Fortune teller blanket 🔮
I wanted to draw something with other patterns of mine in the background, and this was the result, the wall behind her shows my Flower Power blanket, and her table has my Zentangle blanket as a tablecloth.

Astrid’s Wrinkled blanket
The idea fascinated me but took me way out of my comfort zone. You can block it, you can iron or stretch it, but… it will always look wrinkled. I added only a few patterns and details on the colours to reflect movement.

🎄 Astrid’s Xmas tree skirt 🎄
This skirt will dress up your tree’s foot and create the perfect canvas to place all those wrapped gifts!

This Xmas tree skirt is made in four equal pieces. For each piece, you start with a base of 31 windows which throughout 51 rows, it increases to 75 and then decreases to 23 windows. At the end you can choose to join all 4, or join 3 sides and leave one side open to “wrap” around your tree, and add buttons. The finished size is approx. 92 x 110cm.

🎄🎄 Astrid’s Xmas tree blanket 🎄🎄
I believe naps are severely underrated. There is nothing better than cuddling under a blanket to recharge our batteries. And this Christmas tree blanket can be just what you need to take a break from all the preparations!

Made with Scheepjes Stone Washed, I used approx. 1600g in total. All colours used are detailed in the pattern with amounts, and as usual, I added a colouring page for you to play with your own colour combinations.
