You all are a breath of fresh air and a ray of hopeful sunshine. Thank you for showing up like the aurora borealis and saving the month. We went from 45 000kr this month to double that in just 3 days and for that I cannot tell you enough how humbled I am by all the love, the messages, the care, the thoughtful orders (as a side note, we need 70 000kr in sales monthly to break even).

You all helped in every way, with reviews, with visits, with orders, with a simple good kind word. It means the world, this community of you near, far, and wide.

I have been writing and rewriting this post for 3 days now, but today I decided to start it from scratch. Rather than telling you all that is wrong with our small business, I would like to focus on our common reality. I know we all care about the situation in the world and that is making us fearful, concerned and perhaps more introverted and careful with our spendings than usual. I understand and respect that fully. I feel it, too. The positive in this is that we have the opportunity to reconnect to our community, to get to know each other better, to support each other, to (continue to) be kinder to our planet by saying no to mass consumption, no to plastics that, by the way, are made of the fossil fuels at the very core of the global conflicts we are living through at this very moment. Being more concerned about our spendings should keep this in mind and not derail from mindful consumption and from prioritizing small independent businesses.

Thank you for being here.

It’s almost Christmas. This is a recap of December in all its coziness. But most of all it is me scratching an itch :))) Here it goes.

Have you noticed that everywhere you listen or watch, the radio, TV and even at the cinema, commercials are all about being cheap and finding a “kuup” at the grocery store? Tja. Find and buy the cheapest food! Makes me wonder. I know food is essential, I also know food waste is significant, and that we have more and more evidence that food quality matters for our bodies and our minds. It is the one single input (other than air and water) that is essential for our survival and for us tk thrive, body and mind. Let us not even start mentioning how hard it can be to make/grow food and, if one is doing it well and with care, it will be a resource-intensive process. So how can food get cheap and cheaper and how can it all the while maintain its quality? And why do we fall for the food kuup / or what do they think we do? We live in a country where pretty much all of us are privileged when we look beyond borders, so why are we being tempted to become cheaper and cheaper? It really ticks me, sorry, but none of these ads are screaming quality over quantity. And we should feed our only vessels good quality inputs.

Please purchase responsibly this holiday season and never go food shopping while hungry ;)

A brief recap of the past 20 days of November. Dimmer, yet warm light bathing small corners. New books. New Ryoko treasures. Viktória. Fresh ceramics by Linda. Cherishing all of it.

Nineteen days ago I got a surprise I cannot leave undocumented. It was all of you beautiful, strong, talented, inspiring women who plotted this oh so well! Because I was too shocked to react by taking photos in the moment, I came by the day after with my analog to document the aftermath. This is what it looked like. An awesome happy mess that I am so grateful to you for. Our community of kindness and joy.

I have had the pleasure of so many insightful interactions this month. Some happened organically, some will eventually materialize into something more “tangible”, and some were just surprises. All holding their very own beauty and tenderness. It has also been hard and a bit stressful, but in the end, all’s well when it ends well, isn’t it? This month of October 2025 feels like it is ending on an up. And the leaves keep on baring the trees. As I write this, I admire their loosely knit yellow carpet.

Meanwhile, botanically dyed merino wool in different forms (by ) has arrived in this small shop and more lights are very slowly being added. The L’Envers pieces are on their way next week and the Loré Pemberton calendars have been ordered.

As of tomorrow, we will be a small but mighty team of three: Dani, Viktória, and Andreea.

HØSTFERIE Limited Hours: As we take a moment to be with family this coming week starting on Saturday, we hope that you too will enjoy the first yellowing leaves and chestnut-scented air. I know it is not høstferie everywhere in Norway all at once, so we will continue to ship your orders, although perhaps a bit slower than usual. Please bear with us and thank you in advance for helping us keep this small shop rolling.

We will have our doors open 11 - 18 on Thursday, October 9th.
