💚 From a conversation to a custom colourway 💚

One of the things we love most about hand-dyeing yarn is bringing our customers' ideas to life.

This colourway began with a chance meeting at WoolFeast Christchurch, where we met a lovely customer wearing a vibrant green jacket. We got chatting, discovered we shared a love of bold colour, and a few days later she visited us to create a custom dye.

Together, we chose a palette of glorious greens with one bright pop of colour to perfectly complement her jacket.

We think it turned out beautifully... and now we're wondering whether it deserves a place in our regular collection.

Sometimes the best colourways begin with a conversation. 💚

This custom-dyed skein was inspired by a chance meeting at Christchurch WoolFeast and a shared love of glorious greens.

🎨 Every skein tells its own story.

One of the things we love most about hand-dyeing yarn is that no two skeins are ever exactly the same.

We work hard to photograph our colourways as accurately as possible, but every screen displays colour a little differently. And because each skein is individually hand-dyed, you'll notice subtle variations from one to the next.

To us, that's part of the beauty.

Those little differences are what make every project unique and remind us that every skein has passed through our hands, one at a time.

If you're knitting or crocheting with more than one skein, we recommend alternating rows between skeins. It's a simple trick that helps blend any natural colour variations beautifully.

That's the charm of hand-dyed yarn. 💛🧶

🏖️ Meet At the Beach 🏖️

Some colourways tell their own story.

This one was inspired by a walk along New Brighton Beach, just outside Christchurch, where soft pinks, sea greens, and rich chocolate browns come together in nature.

We dyed At the Beach especially for WoolFeast Christchurch ... and to our delight, it sold out within the first hour! 💛

Seeing so many of you fall in love with this colourway made our day.

🌼 Fresh from the dye pot 🌼

One of our lovely customers recently asked if we could dye two skeins in our Daffodil colourway.

So this morning, into the dye pot they went!

As it happens, we have two daffodils blooming in our back garden, so it seemed only right to introduce them to their woolly twins. 💛

It's little moments like these that remind us how much inspiration nature gives us. Sometimes the perfect colour reference is growing just outside the back door.

💙 From skein to scarf 💙

There's nothing quite like seeing one of our hand-dyed skeins transformed into a beautiful handmade creation.

This gorgeous scarf was knitted by one of our lovely customers using our Lake Tekapo colourway, inspired by the crystal-clear blues of one of New Zealand's most iconic landscapes.
