Hi Friends !!
In light of Meta's new terms for creators, and the inability to opt out of them, I'll be removing my related accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Threads). I know what's been posted has likely already been scraped for large language model (LLM) training, but I don't have to willingly give it any more of myself or the work I put so much effort into.
The new terms worry me. They indicate that by having a Meta business account after Oct 30, you're allowing them to use any data you post, or even link off site, to train their LLM's. Obviously this means any images of my artwork will be easily exploited, and I'm concerned about them accessing the personal information of my customers. It also feels super scummy to shift AI liability onto us, when we can't opt out of it's use.
I'm tired. It's been alienating to take an anti-ai stance when it feels like no one but fellow artists care. I know I'll likely miss out on a lot by not being in this space, but it's the right choice for me.
