At Holders Technology, we believe great solutions come from strong partnerships. That's why we're proud to work alongside DMX Engineering, delivering advanced DMX control solutions that help customers achieve greater flexibility, reliability, and performance in lighting control applications.
DMX-512 and Casambi solve different problems. DMX is the industry standard for precise, channel-based control, built for RGBW washes, tunable white, and fixtures that need exact addressing. Casambi is wireless, mesh-based, and app-driven, built for flexibility and ease of commissioning.
Historically, choosing one often meant leaving the other behind.
That's the gap our partner DMX Engineering has been solving. DMX Engineering have two great devices that let Casambi and DMX-512 talk to each other, in either direction:
casDMX lets Casambi control a DMX-512 universe. A Bluetooth-controllable master dimmer, it drives up to 8 DMX channels (slots) directly from the Casambi app useful anywhere RGBW or tunable white fixtures are addressed by DMX, but you want to add them to a Casambi network.
DMXcas is the reverse. It lets Casambi-controlled fittings be driven from a traditional DMX desk or console, for projects where DMX is still the primary control layer, but individual fixtures are Casambi-enabled.
In practice, this means a specifier isn't locked into choosing one protocol for an entire project. DMX zones and Casambi zones can sit side by side and still be controlled as one system.
If you're working through a project where DMX and Casambi both show up on the same drawing, happy to talk through which direction fits.
