What a wonderful rain, 16mm freshens things up nicely and it looks we might have the same later today. But if I am truely honest the weather forecast at the start of the week promised three days of heavy rain so we worked like busy beavers to get everything done so we could relax for three days and now sunny morning mean that plan wasn’t implemented.
At this time of the year if I am not mulching where I w**d it is a waste of time w**ding for they are back before I know it. So this morning heavy mulch has been applied. Will lock in that moisture , keep the ground temp up slightly if it gets cold and will lessen the w**ds. Win win win.
It does look like I am farming peastraw but I can handle that .
Just restocked the fridge it’s been a busy week morning.
Photo shows bells of Ireland about a month away from producing their beautiful flowers.

Pretty sure I will need to stretch after three days of rain and I might need to calm down with frosts in the forecast . So any one want to join me on Saturday? The venue is pretty awesome!

Next season I need to make tulip season last longer! Planning is underway for just this.
I just can’t get enough of them.

In awe that in the first photo the little tulip on the right will look like the tulip on the left in a few days. The tulip on the left was picked 19 days ago, spent the first seven days in the chiller with its bulb still on before it found its way to my bench.

Currently we have two French woofers helping us and every day we spend time commenting on how the tulips have changed over the day.
Today I walked out to the chiller and picked myself some more to bring in.

Will have the final bunches in the fridge from Wednesday.

But flowers don’t stop so if you are looking for a customised arrangement to celebrate something happy or sad reach out. If you are looking for a small bunches of hapiness pop into Johny Fresh from nine and I will have it restocked.
Now off to make my tunnel house bird proof the blackbirds got in an scratched out a row of Lisianthus ! So if you woke up swearing this morning that could possibly of been me! And I have two cats who apparently were not on patrol.
Photo of a cute bird to make us all feel better.

I think I have a full time job stocking the flower fridge! Thank you all for the support.
It is again stocked with beautiful bunches of tulips and small bunches of seasonal delights.
Photo is of my most beautiful tree peony. Unlike the herbaceous peony which is a wonderful cut flower these do not like life in a vase so it safe from my snips!

Flower fridge fully restocked . I wonder who is going to be excited to know I wrapped my first bunch of peonies and popped them in there?
And Liliac, it’s Liliac season!
