We are all thoroughly loving our community knit at The Corner Store Cafe in at Toitu.

It’s warm, Oli , Mark & Summer are looking after us like we’re Kings & Queens. And we’re loving watching the visitors head on into Toitu, a museum we go to often with our littlies.

Did I mention the food? It’s delicious and the coffee is perfect! The baking is a sweet treat too.

Bronwyn has had her crochet fingers working furiously again. Look at these sweet little creatures. I cannot get over the shaping of the bunny ears. Bronwyn you are a rock star!

Next week we’ll have a few seats available on Thursday, several of our girls are away off overseas. If you’ve been thinking of joining us, now would be a fabulous time.

Happy traveling and woolly shopping to our intrepid travellers 🧶❤️🧶

If you are keen to help us with our charity knits. One of our Auckland suppliers, Trendy’s saw what we are up to, and today a beautiful delivery of wool has arrived.

Rachael, Brad & Kath, thank you for helping us knit for our tamariki. There are many deconstructed garments in there ❤️🧶❤️ How exciting.

Today you’ll find us at:

The Corner Store cafe in at Toitu Museum. Thank you to Oli & Mark for making this possible.

I’ll bring the basket with our charity knit wool with me. Love that you fabulous knitters have been bringing in knits during each community knit. We’ll make another delivery to QM next week ❤️

I’d also like to thank the staff at Eureka, Cobb & Co and our very own Sally & Michael for welcoming us to their spaces this week. Our camaraderie is well and truly alive.

Personally pulling this all together is much easier from our studio. However we will do everything in our power to keep as many of you together as a community. Reading Saturdays comments, Crofters Yarn is so much more than a place to gather. For many of you it’s the only activity you have been doing for months outside of your home, you’ve helped create your own community space through wool and stitches.

Shame on whoever decided to judge what we were doing from my back yard.

Your actions are having a negative effect on a community where nothing but love, kindness and support were taking place. Now we are fractured over many sites. And I am anxious as to what happens next!

I think we could all do with a panda bear in our lives ❤️❤️❤️

I cannot believe Lego makes this! But imagine if it turned up at Crofters Yarn. Who would have a straight face?

A heap of knitting is going to take place this week.

At all community knits, I’ll have another basket of wool available for our charity knits. Please make sure to write your name in the book when you take the wool. Thank you so much.

Tuesday our Colourwork Knit Along kicks off at Eureka. We cannot wait to share all of our knits as they progress. My sample is off the needles and blocking as I type.

What a weekend!

Weather wise, an extra day off work, gardening, reading all your incredible messages of support. And knitting late into the night (& enjoying cake for breakfast today celebrating our Maddies 3rd birthday 🎂).

We most definitely must carry on! We knew we made a little difference BUT we make heaps!! To each and everyone who have reached out 😘🥰😍 the biggest gratitude hug is heading your way.

Now what are we up to this week.

On a completely different note. Prior to the complaint coming to light, I visited Anna’s Shed Creations and bought my very whimsical bird house! We’ve had so many discussions around birds in the studio & when I saw Anna’s creations at the Brighton Gala Day, I knew our garden needed one.

I’m really sad that you’re not going to be able to enjoy it. But the house is up! Thanks to Mr CY & PW Engineering for making the great pole (Looney proof!) & installing it. It looks so good, can’t wait to encourage the feathered friends to our garden.

Again, please ignore Facebooks invitations to our Groups, the invites have not personally come from us.

The only active Groups we use on FB are Crofters Yarnies and Crofters Yarn Charity Knits.

All the others are inactive.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to comment, share their thoughts, and send messages of support. We have both read every comment, more than once. Many through teary eyes 🧶❤️🧶

Reading your words, one theme came through clearly, that of community, friendship, learning, creativity, and connection. While wool and knitting may have brought us together, it is the people who have made Crofters Yarn what it is today. This confirms its no longer ‘me’ but ‘us’ ❤️😍❤️

Thank you for reminding me of the value of what we have built together. Every friendship, shared skill, laughter over a cup of tea, and creator who has walked through our doors has helped create something truly special.

Your comments have been heartwarming and mean more to us than I can say. Thank you for being part of this wonderful community and for standing alongside Grae & I.

Today we don’t have a solution, but there is a stitch to be knitted, a w**d to be pulled out of the garden and a walk round the neighbourhood to be walked.

We also have a tweak on our community knit venues for this week. Will share later today.

Jan & Mr CY 🧶❤️
