When this petrol is used in machinery off the public road by businesses it can be claimed back. We are finding that a lot of businesses aren’t claiming - farmers, lawnmowers, carpet cleaners, orchards, concrete, forestry etc. They are either not aware they can, or the complications involved make it not worth the hassle. So the NZTA is left with millions of dollars of road tax which could be otherwise invested back into NZ businesses. NZ Petrol Refunds work on your behalf to process and submit your claims to the NZTA. Initially we can claim back for the past 2 years, and then moving forward claims are placed at the end of each financial quarter. Eligible machines include; quads, chainsaws, generators, water blasters, de-registered farm vehicles, scrub bars, ride on mowers, commercial vessels etc. An average first up claim for our clients is around $3000 and then another 450 each quarter.
