Not usually one to plaster my ass all over social media … but here we are 🤣🤣

A few weeks ago I saw the coolest jeans online. Now, I haven’t bought new jeans for years, I’m an op shopper til I die 🤘🏼

So, these jeans I saw had embroidered flowers on the pocket. I got to checkout and then saw sense. Not only do I not buy new jeans, but I’m also a flower farmer, and it’s winter, so I’m broke cause there ain’t no flowers 🤣 Alas, I closed the tab.

Moving forward to yesterday when I arrived at rehearsals for Ōtaki Players ‘Jagged Little Pill’ (yes, shameless plug, go get your tickets 🤣). Anywhooo, the awesome Libby from Electric Ink-Horowhenua/Kapiti,New Zealand said, “oh, I’ve got a pressy for you!”.

A Stay Feral patch 😍😍😍

Soooo much cooler than the new jeans AND I just ironed it onto my op shop jeans.

Probably a long boring story for y’all but it’s pouring with rain currently, and I’m regretting my life choices about not lifting the dahlias last week 🫠, so just focussing on a positive 😎

Thank you Libby!! I LOVE IT!

(Funnily enough, Libby also did my tattoo you can see there too).

Over here editing beautiful wedding photos from the weekend and quietly negotiating with myself about starting dahlia digging season 🫠

I love seeing what the plants have been up to underground all year. Every clump feels like I’m opening a surprise birthday pressy (June baby here 🦀♋️).

What I don’t love… my body and dahlia digging season have a long standing disagreement 🤣

I get occasional fibromyalgia flare-ups, and this kind of repetitive physical work can be so rough. This isn’t a poor me post. After all, I chose this 🤣 And if I’m being honest, overall I’ve never felt better. The outdoor, creative work has done wonders for my body, my mind, and my happiness.

But, I want to do this for a lifetime, not a short time, so I’m slowly learning that looking after myself is just as important as looking after the flowers. So I’ll sit here and think on it some more 🤣

I’ll keep you posted with how they’re looking when I get to it 🖤

I’ve been getting so frustrated with all the AI stuff on social out there … AI-written posts, AI-generated images, AI-business flyers, AI-ebooks , AI-e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.

But… ya know what?! Looking at the feeds full of that stuff yesterday, that same look, the same format flyers… you know what stands out now?

Authenticity.

I stop scrolling when I see a business flyer that clearly wasn’t made by AI. I stop scrolling when I don’t see the telltale signs that the post is just copy paste AI (because there are soooo many signs, iykyk).

So, I don’t get mad now 😎 fill my feed with AI, because it turns out the most rebellious thing you can be in 2026 is a real person, and I’m here for it.

Throw back to this tiny dude living amongst the flowers.

His name is probably Gary.
Or Steve.

Definitely owns a BBQ and enjoys watching “the game.”

Haven’t seen Gazza/Stevo this season. Potentially he met Shazza and they skipped town 🤷🏻‍♀️

Locally grown flowers are just 👌🏻😍 These iris were grown right here on our feral little hill in Koputaroa. No airport miles. No huge carbon footprint. Just floaty, romantic seasonal blooms ready for the pickin.

Bring on peony season 🖤

Also, totally unrelated… but nevertheless very important… op shoppers!! (And I can’t be the only one who’s noticed this 😳)

Why is there ALWAYS at least one Hayley Westenra CD in every single op shop in New Zealand?! Like even if the CD rack has 10 CD’s … guaranteed at least one is Hayley Westenra 😳

Like A.L.W.A.Y.S 🤣

How many CDs did that woman actually sell?!

Seriously, have a look next time and send me photos of your findings 💀

Like who is supplying them all?! 🤣 Do we have any Westenra fans in the house?

Not my cup of tea personally but she obviously did alright 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Anywho, that’s my random comment of the day 😎 Shout out to Hayley if she’s lookin 👀
