Wedding season is here, and if you’re planning your skincare prep, I’d love you to think one level deeper.

One session can already make a difference.

You’ll often feel the tension in your face and jaw ease straight away. But it’s consistency that creates real change, the face responds like the rest of the body, and repeated work lets the fascia properly settle into a new pattern.

These photos are after 6 sessions. You can see it here. The eyes look more open in the after photo, with less heaviness underneath, and the skin has a natural flush from the increased circulation.

Six sessions in and the changes are so clear.

In the front on photos you can see how much puffiness has released from the face, especially around the eyes. When fascia is tight, the lymphatic system can’t drain properly and fluid pools, creating that heavy, swollen look. Once the tension eases, drainage improves, the eyes open up and the whole face looks lighter.

The side on photos tell a different part of the story. This client came to me holding a lot of tension through the jaw, and you can see how much that’s released. Her posture has shifted too, her head sits more aligned over her shoulders instead of pushing forward.
Facial tension is so often connected to what’s happening in the rest of the body.

Alongside our sessions we’ve also worked on breathing and posture, and on this client taking real time for herself. That combination is what creates results like this, not just the fascia work on its own.

For the new faces here, let me introduce myself. And for those who have been around a while and are wondering what came next, this one is for you too. I am Deb, founder of Studio Serene. Mother of four, and grandmother of five. Family has always been at the centre of everything I do.

At 21 I started my first business, Arobake, while raising four children. It was a startup built on very little except hard work and a lot of heart.

Some years later I built Madison Rose, a retail space bringing together fashion, beauty and homeware, with women at the heart of everything we did. What I loved most was that moment when a customer left feeling genuinely good about herself. I saw it thousands of times and it never got old.

It was also where I discovered how transformative it is when a woman truly takes time for herself. That stayed with me.

About four years ago I discovered Face Up™️ while dealing with jaw pain during orthodontic treatment. The release I felt in that first session stopped me in my tracks. Not just physically. I realised I had been carrying an enormous amount of stress in my body and had no idea. I trained with founder Olga Newman and immersed myself in everything I could find about fascia and the role it plays in how we feel, how we look, and how our nervous system copes with modern life.

That is why I created Studio Serene. A calm, unhurried space where women can take an hour for themselves without apology. Clients leave saying things like “I feel like I’m floating” and “I’ve never experienced anything like this.” That is the nervous system finally getting a chance to exhale.

I know how hard it is to put yourself first. I also know how much changes when you finally do.
