LizzyLou Knits Welcome to LizzyLou Knits. Knit a hat for yourself or for someone who needs a warm head. One of my favourite woollen creations was one my mother knitted.

LizzyLou Knits has grown from a personal need to create an awesome woolley hat, a hat that really kept my head warm in our challenging wintery conditions. Also, combine that with my love for merino wool and fantastic colours!

I grew up on a sheep farm in North Otago, New Zealand. My mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunts were the knitters in our family, crafting woolley jerseys, hats and so

cks. It was a long cardigan, full of colour. It was patchy, super warm and bright and must have used up many ends of wool! I like to think it was like Joseph’s coat of many colours. I was taught to knit as a child and there I left it for 37 years. Recently I picked up the knitting needles, combined it with my design background and created a variety of hat patterns that lean towards Fair Isle, a mixture of shapes, stripes, pictures and textured knitting.
