My Poppa was a quiet, refined gentleman. I was lucky enough to spend some time living with him after moving out of our flat before I went on my OE and it was a pleasure to get to hear snippets of his life during that time. He also loved licorice allsorts and used to have so much patience for the fact that I hated the licorice layer - I used to sit there peeling off the colored bits and just handing him the licorice 😂 Can't help but think of that when I see this pic of him and Granny on my fridge 🥰

...he also gave me epic horsey rides around the living room when I was a kid, put up with gaggles of girls talking till 2am at sleepovers, and helped me hang toffee apples from the balcony balustrades with fishing wire for a Halloween party one year.

He's been there through thick and thin. And somehow, I realised, when I was printing pics for my own fridge we actually have very few photos of just me and him.

Dad's are often a bit like that though - a constant presence in the background. Father's Day is coming up in a few weeks - this year, how about instead of socks or aftershave (or golf balls - sorry Dad 😂) give the father figure in your life something which reminds him of the memorable moments you have shared together.

At the Porirua City Council Love Local Expo recently I was very humbled to win the People's Choice Award for our booth, and the 2 hour business photo shoot reward. Buuuuut, the photographer doesn't have a studio and while they said he can come to me our house isn't exactly giving photoshoot vibes 😂 I have been looking online but am having trouble finding somewhere indoors to do the shoot, so I am putting this out to the universe in the hopes that someone might know someone, or somewhere, who would be happy to let me borrow, hire, or product swap their space for a couple of hours. I don't actually mind what the location is, its more about finding the right kind of background space - it might be a studio, or a salon, or a restuarant, or your aunties boujee house 😉

What we are looking for:
- vibes: modern, neutral/ textural, light and bright,
- good lighting
- Porirua based
- size: I need about 3m x 2 or 3m space to set up my mobile cart and get some behind the scenes type shots, and then somewhere nice to get some casual but professional photos of me
- when: 2-3 hours at some point in the next 6 weeks or so, date is flexible at this stage
