Little Bloem Flowers Cut flowers from my urban flower garden 🌷

Yesterday marked 3 months as a homeowner 🏡🌷

And in that time, I’ve managed to rip apart the greenhouse (which now has no walls or windows 🫠), accumulate piles of dirt everywhere and start approximately 500 projects that are yet to be finished… so the garden is currently giving more construction site than cut flower garden 😭

Trusting the process I suppose… good thing I have a backup garden 🫡🌱

Three years ago, when I was 18, I spent 3 months travelling around Europe and planned our entire itinerary around being in Amsterdam/Keukenhof for tulip season. Back then, I had no idea I’d end up growing flowers myself one day, but seeing the fields and fields of tulips has always stuck with me. 🌷

When it came time to name this little business, I found myself thinking back to those tulip fields and of course my mum, who’s half Dutch. I decided on Little Bloem, with bloem being the Dutch word for flower.

Today I picked the very last tulips of the season, grown at my childhood home. There’s something pretty special about it all coming full circle. 🤍

Can you believe it’s nearly spring?! 🌷

You won’t find anyone more excited than me for tulip season to arrive!! The garden is slowly starting to wake up, and I’m counting down the days until all these little green leaves turn into flowers.

Here’s a peek at the tulips I’m growing this year 🤍

Little Bloem has moved!!!! 🌸🏡

Less than a month ago I bought my very first home, and I still can’t quite believe it. 💛

With that comes a brand new chapter for Little Bloem. While we’ve moved, we haven’t gone far! In fact, Little Bloem is only getting bigger. I’ll still be growing flowers at the original property while creating a brand new cutting garden here, giving me even more growing space than before. 🌿

There are some exciting projects ahead too - besides renovating the house, I’m also planning to revamp the old greenhouse and transform the garage into a little floral studio where all of your bouquets will be created. ✨

Come spring, there will still be tulips, daffodils, and all the other spring favourites - just growing across two beautiful spaces. 🌷🌼

The only thing left to decide is where the brand new flower stand will call home… will it stay in Raumati or make the move to Waikanae? 🤔 I’ll keep you all updated!
