This was my first ever sourdough loaf!

I thought it was pretty awesome but honestly?
It was a wee bit dense. Flat. Heavy. Edible but slightly tragic 😆

Fast forward to now 9 years, and my loaves look completely different.

But here’s the truth:

It wasn’t talent.
It wasn’t luck.
It wasn’t fancy equipment.

It was understanding fermentation.

A “little” announcement from me…

I’ve decided to step back from baking sourdough and look for new opportunities this year. As The Dough Shed has been my first business and I’ve had so many supportive customers, this is a decision I’ve been battling with for a while, but it’s the right change for me, and I’m excited for whatever new challenges lie ahead.

I’m so proud of the whole look and feel of The Dough Shed that I’ve decided to keep my online store open, where you can continue to buy tees, caps, my sourdough course, and other sourdough-related products.

Thank you so much to all of my supporters over the past few years. I’ve absolutely loved meeting everyone and seeing how much you’ve enjoyed my products.

2025 done 😮‍💨 There may be a little smile in this photo but I’ll be honest, this year has been tough. I’ve made lots of changes to my business over the last year or so, and when I returned to selling direct, it was like starting all over again, which has been challenging in the current climate. However, it’s been incredibly humbling to have so many customers follow me from the beginning to where I am now and, continue to meet new customers along the way.

I’m not to sure what 2026 looks like for The Dough Shed, but a much needed break will help me figure out what’s next.
