Putting together some custom handbound book orders.
I love how this patchwork leather cover has come together and sewing in the pages is always a favourite step of the creation process.

As I wash my things in a puddle...

Holding in my hand is the power to create,
The power to make a glorious mess,
The power of failure and trying once more,
The power of quietness,
Of being right here in the now.

The power of sweet, uninterrupted flow,
Of thinking of nothing at all
Except what your fingers are doing,
Moving,
Making,
Creating,
Drifting towards the end of the vision
That keeps ever changing and evolving
With the wondrous, wild process of art.

Enjoying the little things, walks with friends and fur babies. Have a wonderful week xx

I was absolutely delighted to be a contestant in this year's RE:STITCHED Runway last Saturday, put on by Envirohub Bay of Plenty. Every incredible outfit on that stage was created from clothing destined for landfill. For the challenge, each designer started with just five second-hand garments and one surprise challenge item in the form of a piece of advertising banner or flag to incorporate into our final look, all with a tight one-month window to bring a fully wearable design to life.

To breathe new life into these old textiles, I turned to natural dye techniques, using turmeric, indigo, and shibori resist-dyeing to build a completely custom colour palette. The final collection includes a cheese-cutter hat, a watch strap, high-waisted pants, a pouch bag, shoelaces, and a shirt featuring cutouts and delicate smocking stitches on the back to give a little manipulated fabric detail.

It was amazing seeing all the different creations on Saturday night. Well done to everyone! Love the creativity!

A massive and heartfelt shoutout to my model, Ryan, who completely rocked the runway for me on show night.
