There’s something beautiful about taking your time. When you stop rushing to the finish line, the hands begin to listen, the mind grows quiet, and you simply get lost in the moment.

Maybe that’s the real magic of pottery — not just making something with your hands, but learning to be present while you do it. 🤎

Hi, I’m Chitrakshi — the person behind Kali Clay Studios. 🤎

By day, I’m a software engineer; by passion, I’m a potter. Kali Clay Studios is my little side business in Taranaki, where I’ve been working with clay for the past 4–4.5 years.

Before tech and pottery, I was a chef, fortunate enough to work in some of the country’s most esteemed culinary establishments.

I’m also a wife and mum to a beautiful three-year-old, so life is wonderfully full.

I’m usually behind the camera, teaching classes and celebrating other people’s creations. But today, I thought I’d finally step in front of it — with a little chawan for my matcha. 🍵

Today I indulged myself into some black and red stoneware clay, starting with 2.5 kg of clay.
At the near end, I had an idea to give this vase a more funky but strange look.
