Two Roman blinds, both stopped pulling up the way they should. Fabric was still in good condition on both, it was the cords that had had enough after years of daily use.

Restrung both of them and they're lifting evenly again, no need to replace either blind.

If yours is dragging to one side, not lifting fully, or just feels harder to pull than it used to, there's a good chance it's the same fix.

Roman blind stuck halfway and refusing to budge?

Before you start thinking about replacing the whole thing, it might be a much simpler fix.

A worn cord or lift mechanism is often the culprit, and in many cases a restring is all that's needed to get the blind working properly again.

If yours is getting harder to raise, sitting unevenly, or has stopped moving altogether, send us a photo. We'll take a look and let you know what it needs.

Quick tip before your curtain or blind installation.

Clearing a bit of space around your windows before we arrive can make a big difference. It means less time moving furniture and more time getting your curtains, blinds, or tracks installed properly.

If you can remove any existing curtains or blinds beforehand, that helps too, but don't worry if you can't.

And if your place has tall stud heights, tricky stair access, or anything else that might affect the installation, just let us know when you book so we can come prepared.

A few small things beforehand can make the whole process quicker and easier on the day.

Ever wondered why some Roman blinds fold perfectly every time, while others end up bunched and uneven?

The difference is often in the ringlets, the small loops sewn into the back of the blind that guide the cords evenly as it lifts. When they're positioned correctly, the blind folds neatly every time. When they're not, the folds can become uneven surprisingly quickly.

We finished this Roman blind with new curtains alongside it, making sure everything sat straight, folded evenly, and looked right from top to bottom.

It's the kind of detail most people never notice, but it's what helps a blind and curtain installation keep looking good long after the job is finished.
