🌺 ANZAC Day – Honouring Frederick Henry Johnson 🌺
As we pause this ANZAC Day to remember those who served, sacrificed, and shaped the freedoms we hold today, our family honours Frederick Henry Johnson — a man whose life embodied duty, integrity, and quiet strength.
Fred served with distinction in the Royal New Zealand Air Force during WWII, beginning as an AC2 Flying Mechanic and later specialising in diesel and marine engines. In 1945 he was posted to Fiji, Noumea, and other Pacific locations, contributing his skill and dedication to vital wartime operations.
Beyond his military service, Fred was known for his warmth, humility, and genuine kindness. He carried himself with the calm dignity of someone who lived a life of purpose, and he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Today, we remember him with deep respect and gratitude — for his service, his character, and the legacy he leaves within our family and our history.
Please share your family story.
Lest we forget.
