Bookish and crafty goodies that will make you smile! I also thought the world had seen too many pink and flowery bunting and it was time to change that!

It all started when my bestfriend, life partner, sister from another mister asked me to make some bunting for her wedding reception. From sourcing the fabric, cutting (didn't enjoy this bit that much) and sewing it all up, I fell in love with the process. I buy limited amounts of fabric from numerous sources in the UK and around the world to keep it fun and fresh but it also means I have limited amounts. Want something just for you? One from my daughter's library loans...

Confetti and the Rainbow Garden is a beautiful story written by Courtney Act. When we saw it at the library, we just had to borrow it!

Confetti lives in the Rainbow Garden with her Nana and all her brothers and sisters. They are yet to find what makes them special as well as the reason and meaning of their name. Confetti spends the day wandering the garden seeing everything their brothers and sisters contribute to the place and how special each of them are.

Not only is this book beautifully illustrated, it has a wonderful message about not comparing yourself to others, that we all have our own thing that makes us special and most of all, that we need everyone's individual types of special to make the garden (world) more beautiful. Such a lovely way to talk about diversity, acknowledging one's worth and belonging!

We might need to nab one of these for our own bookshelf.

BOOK REVIEW: if you're looking for a fun and easy read with the vibes of a 2000 rom com then I have the book for you.

Exes and O's centres on Tara Chen, a romance book obsessed nurse who's had her heart broken a few too many times. She's moving in with Trevor, her sister's fiance's firefighter colleague, to allow her newly engaged sister to have some privacy.

Things start with a bang (🤣😂 pun intended) when Tara walks in on Trevor and a lady having a good time at the kitchen counter. Cue running and hiding in the bathroom... Me too girl!

In spite of what's happened, Tara doesn't give up on love and decides to revisit her Exes to see if there's hope at a second chance romance. Cue some light bulb moments and realisation of her own worth. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Trevor has sworn off love and prefers a one night stand to a relationship. He's more than happy to help Tara with her list however!

I didn't love this book but I didn't hate it either. For me, Tara was unrelatable and dare I say it... A bit much/full-on/unrealistic. I hate to say that about women but she felt more like a caricature than a potential real person. I also wasn't impressed by the lack of support from Tara's closest ladies.

However, the banter between Tara and Trevor was pretty darn good and that ending? Yeap. It was good. Did I mention he's a firefighter? 👩🏻‍🚒🥵🔥

I wanted to expand my reading this year with more diverse authors and FMC so I'm glad I was able to do that with this book. It's only a small step into diversity so I'm excited to expand even more! Did you set any reading goals this year?

September Reading Round Up!

A pretty good month because:
- 2 new to me authors - 1 I am definitely keen to keep reading
- I was willing to DNF without guilt (but didn't - though I could have if I wanted to 😂)
- The Night Prince

I had to take a few days break after The Night Prince because whaaaaaa?! 😂

What a fun night at Enamoured Books thanks to Prime Video AU & NZ for the upcoming release of The Love Hypothesis on Prime !

I absolutely LOVED this book and the film adaptation is my most anticipated watch of the year. The squeals I squeal whenever I see a clip! Wednesday 23rd September cannot come quickly enough!

BOOK REVIEW: if you're looking for small town cosy vibes, enemies who push each other's buttons and some rather spicy scenes have I got the book for you...

Darling Daffodils Farm made it onto my TBR and quickly on my Kobo I still don't know how. I think I saw the cover and thought the story seemed cute (and I was missing the small town vibes) so off I went to Libby and requested it.

The story centres around Tally Darling, an aspiring and talented pastry chef and Jesse Walker, a farm hand hired to help out on the Darling Daffodil Farm.

Tally's dad has passed and she's been called back to the family farm to help out for the upcoming wedding season. She's not been back since she left and she doesn't want to stick around. They each have their own agenda but both ultimately want Tally gone ASAP. The butting of heads throws even more fuel to the fire.

Tally comes back to find out that there's something not quite right with the farm, her mum or Jesse and she is determined to find out why. All while going through the guilt and grief of losing her father amongst the memories and questions he's left behind.

This book was funny, heart warming (can I move to a small town already??), mysterious and steamy! There were definitely some scenes that made me 😳🥵👀 so this serves as your warning.

I liked that the 2 MCs were not afraid to have tough conversations and the third act break up only lasted a few pages before they spoke to each other to fix things. I was actually surprised and thought I had missed some pages!

There's 2 more books in the series (one already out, another due next year) and I am definitely going to be reading them! I have a feeling there'll be a fourth because there's 4 key ladies in the group and they all need their own HEA!
