This Lakeside Queenstown renovation will be coming to life later this year, with uninterrupted views out over Lake Wakatipu. The design isn’t trying to compete with the surroundings, it’s about working with them and letting the landscape do its thing.

The existing rimu features are being paired with complementary timbers and soft, considered paint colours. Materials that sit comfortably together and feel right in the space.

It’s definitely not all about how things look . This project is really about thoughtful design, spaces that function well, feel good to live in, and will stand the test of time.

I have chosen materials that are durable and timeless, with longevity in mind. Future-proofing has also been a big part of the conversation, with ageing in place considered early on rather than as an afterthought.

Simple things like adding extra fixings behind key walls now can make life much easier down the track if they’re ever needed.

It’s a really exciting project, and I can’t wait to see it all come together.

Rendered images help bring emotion and soul to a design.

They tell a story…not just of materials and layouts, but of real life unfolding within the space.

How a room supports quiet moments and everyday rituals.

How it feels to slow down, to rest, and to simply be there.

Renders aren’t just about showing how a space will look, they help communicate how it will feel.

When clients can see themselves in the image, they start to understand how the space will work, not just practically, but emotionally too.

Current kitchen concept in the works for a Queenstown lakefront renovation project I’m working on.

This image was sent to the client to communicate the overall concept and layout after the full virtual design walkthrough. From here, the finer details will be developed like handles, drawers, cabinetry and joinery detailing.

Really excited to be part of this project and to see it evolve.

(How gorgeous is the .anz Taj Mahal benchtop?! It is one of my favourites) .

Spec builds don’t have to be boring.

After designing my client’s previous spec home, they trusted me again to create the interior scheme for their next build, and I couldn’t be more excited.

They loved the colour palette from the first home, so we stayed within that familiar, warm neutral zone, but introduced a fresh point of difference to help this one truly stand out in the subdivision.

The goal: a scheme that feels welcoming, timeless and homely, looks incredible, stands apart from the rest and still stays on budget.

This design ticks every box. I can’t wait to see it come to life.

Sometimes a flat lay can be this simple - my client had fallen in love with this tile, so we built the ensuite design around it.

The Sovereign Oak woodgrain finish on the vanity not only ties the room back to the character of the house but also adds warmth to balance the clean, modern finishes ✨

We are now at the exciting stage of our Wānaka new build project , with finishes confirmed by my client , the next step is to bring it all to life. This means integrating every material into the 3D drawings, creating beautifully detailed renders, and preparing a full specification document. From elevations through to a complete schedule of finishes and product selections, every detail will be presented all in one place.

Having everything in one document makes it easy to refer back to , and it ensures all of the sub-trades/suppliers involved in the project are all on the same page.

The design remains true to a timeless aesthetic, but with a carefully curated design scheme that moves beyond the standard “cookie cutter” style.

Moody Ensuite Project will be coming to life in July through 🤩

Our client has a beautiful Indian Ink wall in her master bedroom, so she asked me to carry that moody feel into the ensuite. I’ve pulled together a palette that brings it all to life — deep navy tiles to echo the bedroom, with a darker charcoal grey tile on the floor to ground the space, and a lighter grey concrete-look tile on the walls to keep it soft and balanced. I’ve added warm walnut with the Devious Soft Matte finish on the vanity for depth and contrast, and brushed brass to lift the whole look. It’s moody, calm, and timeless ✨

When I design a home, I’m not just thinking about colours or furniture placement…. I’m thinking about how it will feel to live in that space.

I want it to feel like a warm hug.

A place that invites you to slow down, to breathe deep , to feel at ease.

Grounded, personal, and timeless.

A true sanctuary from the noise of the world.

Yellow can be daunting—and getting it right can be even more so.

This ensuite was originally going to feature terracotta, but our client asked me to explore yellow instead. While narrowing it down, I pointed to the golden yellow autumn leaves outside on the grapevine. Turns out - that’s the exact yellow our client had in mind.

So the yellow tile hunt began—and I came back with what I think is a perfect match.

The warm feature tiles are balanced by calming beige on the walls and floor, with an LED-lit niche adding a soft, spa-like glow—especially lovely on chilly mornings. Natural walnut timber veneer on the floating vanity ties it all back to that earthy, autumn inspiration.

Our clients love it —and the building work starts Wednesday. I can’t wait to see this one come to life!
