Okay but when do I shower, eat a hot meal, sit in silence for 5mins and remember who I am as a person?

I know this advice comes from a kind place. I really do!

But telling an exhausted mum to sleep when the baby sleeps, when the baby sleeps for 24mins at unpredictable times, is not actually helpful.

What IS helpful?
- A realistic nap routine
- A plan that gives you back some control over your day

If you haven't had to encounter this, count yourself lucky!

I don't even know how to describe what I walked into except to say S**T!
Everywhere.

And the smell. OH the smell!

I stood in the doorway in disbelief.
Where do I even begin??

No manual, no training, no course on earth prepares you for that moment.
You just have to take a breath (through your mouth obviously) with a peg on ya nose and get on with it.

And thats parenting in a nutshell isn't it?
Nothing goes to plan. Some days are a s**tshow from start to finish.

You're doing better than you think. (Even on the s**t days!)

Tomato sauce on the ceiling, twin boys and myself in hysterics, and telling the parents took forever because none of us could keep a straight face.

Some days are just like that.

Nothing goes to plan, everything is messy. But the genuine laughter from the kids makes it worth it.

Parenting is the same. It's not supposed to be perfect and neither is baby sleep.

But if the sleep part is feeling a little less funny and a lot more exhausting right now, I can help.

Celebraring Perinatal Mental Health Week and working in this space is a privilege I don’t take lightly. 💙

The perinatal period (pregnancy through the first year postpartum) is one of the most significant and most vulnerable times in a person's life. Yet so many parents suffer in silence, feeling like they should be coping better.

Here's what I want every parent to know:
✨ What you're feeling is valid.
✨ You are not alone in this.
✨ Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
✨ Support is available and you deserve it.

To the parents in my community who are in the thick of it right now: I care about you. I'm here. And I believe things can get better with the right support.
