The wait was worth it. My clients are thrilled with how this space has come together — layered and personal.

The artwork was already theirs and became the starting point for the custom rug design. Softer tones were intentionally chosen for the rug so the art could take centre stage, with the rug playing more of a beautiful support act.

A few custom cushions complete the space, adding comfort and softness without overcomplicating things.

Creating a home you love isn’t about "making do" while you wait for the “someday” future house.

When the way is unclear I see homeowners make selections they later regret. And that's often why clients engage a designer. WIth expert guidance a designer helps to shape and develop a clients own distinct style to create a unique and cohesive look and feel in their home. It's honestly one of my favourite aspects of design, each client has a unique story to tell and it's my job to harness that seed of idea to leap from average to something very special. How you feel in your home is worth it. For Beth her love of soft pink and beige was sprinkled through her kitchen because she wanted to enjoy this colour every time she went into the kitchen. Two beautiful Wellington homes were generously opened for viewing, thanks to a collaboration between homeowners, .nz and .

Sergeant’s Cottage in Worser Bay (slide 1 ,2,3), designed by Guy Tarrant, pairs horizontal weatherboards with mostly white interiors. Colour is used sparingly but with impact — in the bathroom tiles and small details like the dining light.

A separate “sleepout” is lined entirely in timber, creating a warm, cocoon-like space to retreat to.

BB House in Island Bay, designed by Upoko Architects, is just 6 x 6 metres but feels incredibly considered.

A private outdoor area extends the space, and tall pivoting doors bring in light while also offering shelter from the wind.

My favourite feature was the sunken bath in the courtyard — such a special touch.

The owner has confidently used bold colours she loves, with a striking green carried through the glass tiles in the bathroom.

It’s a great reminder that a small home can still have a big presence.

Often times clients are overwhelmed because there are loads of options when it comes to choices for their home. Fabric, paint, furniture, carpet, window treatments the list goes on. But ACTUALLY if you aren't building your home then you do need to make selections to work in with all the existing and fixed elements. Here I am colour matching colours in a stone benchtop, living room sofa and kitchen floor tile. So I know exactly what colours and undertones to consider when I am designing and sourcing for my clients. This means there is no surprises on installation day and infact every selection is made with confidence knowing it works well with all the other elements. Confidence in the details because you deserve to love your home
