It’s time for Simply Handmade@the Red Barn to say good bye. We had temporarily closed the gift shop last December, after operating for a year and a half after the café closed. However, this month our members met and have decided to officially close the shop and dissolve our collective.

Thank you to our customers near and far. We have been grateful for your support for the 11 years that we operated, particularly after COVID and after the café closed. We extend our appreciation to our many and varied crafters and artists who entrusted us to sell their work. We enjoyed our journey with you all greatly.

On the bright side, a new craft shop has opened just down the road at Riverslea Mall, Edgecumbe. Many of your favourite crafters, and many more, can be found at Kiwi chic . The shop is well worth a visit.

Once again, thank you for your support. On behalf of our crafters, thank you for valuing and purchasing locally handmade items.

Simply Handmade at the Red Barn is temporarily closed.

Dear customers - as you may know the Red Barn bakery and cafe closed back in July 2024. The gift store had continued to operate and although we have some very loyal customers, we aren’t getting enough traffic and sales to warrant reopening without a complementary business and draw next door.

The Red Barn is currently for sale. We are hopeful that the cafe will reopen under new ownership. Until that time, we are temporarily closing. We are happy to open by special request.e

Our kiwiana themed earrings and our guardian angel earrings, pendants and key rings are on sale! Come in and check it out!

We are open 10am to 2:30pm Thursday to Sunday. We are taking a break from December 21 to February 1 due to health issues and family commitments. But we will open by appointment - just get in touch!
