Kimbo Abad (b. December 05, 2003) is an Ilocano artist currently based in Baguio City, Benguet. Deeply inspired by nature and rural life, his works often blend whimsical and magical elements that celebrate the beauty of the natural world while advocating for environmental care. Aside from painting, he also explores different forms of art such as photography, videography, and childrenโs book illustration, allowing him to tell stories through multiple creative mediums. Through his art, he hopes to inspire others to appreciate the richness of the countryside and develop a deeper connection with nature.

What happens when we slowly lose the ability to feel joy? My work reflects the quiet emptiness I associate with grief, loss, and acceptance. I believe that leaving this world is part of everyoneโs life, and grieving is a natural process people experience in different ways. In this piece, I used flowers and creatures to represent the โfive seasonsโ of life โ growth, happiness, sorrow, change, and healing. Each element symbolizes the emotional shifts I experience while moving through pain and acceptance. Through surreal imagery and organic forms, I wanted to capture the feeling of emotional distance while slowly learning how to continue living despite the heaviness within.
