Last holy week we once again had the chance to decorate the andas of the de las aguas (i thirst) image of the villones family of angono, as we have always done before, we would always associate our floral decor to a specific catholic scriptures.
Our theme this year came from the following verse
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. ... Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-39
As an ode to the images’ title, a theme depicting water/thirst was a first for us, but looking back it was beautifully proper.
We envisioned a river of white lilies flowing from christ, a symbol of purity traversing an ocean of grass representing the world. Fountains of agoho cypress further added an allusion of water movement, and a tree of kamuning behind christ was based on the greek word Xylon, meaning wood timber or a living tree, a word the apostles often used to describe the cross.
