NEWS UPDATE | NUMBER OF VICTIMS RISE TO 13 WITH 3 RESCUED ALIVE, 4 DEAD, 6 STILL MISSING
The number of victims in the landslide that buried three houses at Riverside, Guisad Surong yesterday Aug. 9, 2026 had been raised to 13.
In a report to Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Baguio City Police Director P Col Ruel Tagel said that as of 5:35 a.m. on August 10, 2026, seven of the 13 individuals have been extracted from the landslide area.
Three were rescued alive and brought to the hospital for medical observation, while four were declared dead.
The four fatalities are a female Grade 12 student, a Grade 4 male student; an adult male and a nine-year-old girl.
The three rescued individuals are a male and a female both 27 years old and a 77-year-old pastor.
Six individuals remain unaccounted for as the Search, Rescue and Retrieval (SRR) operation continues. The missing individuals included a three-year-old and an eight-year old children.
