🚧 SITE PROGRESS UPDATE | ROOFING WORKS NEXT

We’re wrapping up the roof beams and getting ready to move into the next major phase, roofing works. 🏗️

From structural framing to the roof system, every component has to work together—from the roof pitch and framing to the underlayment, flashing, and final roofing material. This is where the building’s protection from sun, wind, and rain really begins to take shape.

💡 DID YOU KNOW?

A well-designed roof isn’t just about choosing the right roofing material. Roof pitch, overhangs, flashing, gutters, and proper drainage all work together to keep rainwater away from the walls and openings of the house.

In a tropical climate like the Philippines, a properly planned roof can make a big difference in comfort, durability, and protection from heavy rainfall. 🌧️

From concrete to framing, and now from beams to roofline—we’re seeing the home take shape one phase at a time.

A project that began as a student’s vision at Batangas State University became a milestone worth remembering.

“Palupadan San Masbateño: A Biomimicry Approach in the Proposed New Masbate Airport” — the undergraduate thesis of Den Mar Antonio, rooted in local identity and inspired by biomimicry, the movement of the Masbateño bull, the dynamics of flight, and the natural forms of bamboo. The concept envisioned an airport that reflects the culture, character, and spirit of Masbate.

We are proud to look back on this work, which was awarded TOP 1 — Thesis of the Year 2020. 🏆

For us, great architecture is more than form and function—it is about story, place, identity, and purpose.

A reminder that every design journey starts with an idea, and with passion, that idea can take flight.

🚧 Site Progress Update

Structural works continue as we work on the asinta of our CHB walls while progressing with our b**a or reinforced concrete beams. Proper alignment and coordination at this stage help ensure that the walls and structural members come together accurately as the building takes shape.

📚 Filipino Construction Vernacular:
In Philippine construction terminology, “asinta” refers to setting a wall or structural element to the correct line, level, and alignment before continuing the work.

Meanwhile, “b**a” is the vernacular term for a beam, a horizontal structural member that transfers loads toward columns or other supports.

🚧 Site Progress Update

Our plumbing and electrical rough-ins are officially completed and inspected-another milestone checked off before moving forward with our slab-on-grade (SOG).

Next up: final preparation, reinforcement checking, and concrete pouring.

💡Construction Trivia:
Did you know? Rebar spacers or chairs play an important role in SOG construction. They keep the reinforcement at its designed elevation so the steel is properly embedded within the concrete instead of resting directly on the ground or moisture barrier. Proper positioning helps the slab perform as intended and maintains the required concrete cover.

What gets covered by concrete is just as important as what stays visible. 🏗️
