The Riyadh Metro Project.

It is also rewarding to see a project now operational and somehow make an impact on people's lives and country, that I was once a part of the Design Team. Saudi Arabia's driverless Riyadh Metro opens its first phase on Wednesday, November 27, with three of its six lines ready for commuters. Once complete, it will be the world’s largest metro built in a single phase, covering 176 kilometers with 84 stations.

Initially, the metro will serve up to 1.2 million passengers daily, doubling after full completion. It features 80 bus routes with 842 buses and 2,860 stops, aiming to support Riyadh’s population growth, projected to reach up to 20 million by 2030.

The first three lines connect key areas like Al Orouba, Batha, and King Khalid Airport Road. More routes, including King Abdullah Road, will open by mid-December, expanding coverage across the

The world before AutoCAD and digital tools in architectural design was completely different: plans drawn by hand with millimeter precision, hours spent fixing errors on paper, and physical layouts that required detailed craftsmanship.

Every line, every perspective, was crafted with patience and manual skill, which made the architectural process a technical and creative art.
