Still reflecting on our latest Meet the Change Makers at by Lokal Lab, an evening rooted in honest conversation, shared learning, and the kind of exchange that reminds us why community spaces matter. This session invited us to look deeper into the connection between women’s independence, economic self-reliance, and environmental sovereignty and how true autonomy is shaped by the ways we care for, manage, and regenerate the resources within our own communities.
Together, we unpacked what it means to move away from a linear take-make-waste system and toward more circular, regenerative, and locally rooted ways of living. From upcycling and waste reduction to building systems and livelihoods that are less extractive and more community-led, the conversation centered on women who are reimagining what resilience can look like in practice.
To everyone who joined us, listened with intention, and shared space with us, thank you for being part of the conversation. Your presence helps make room for the kind of dialogue, reflection, and connection these gatherings are meant to hold. We’re also deeply grateful to our panelists: .siargao ._ for sharing their stories and insights, and to our partners for helping make spaces like this possible.
This gathering was made possible through the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and whose commitment to strengthening community-led initiatives continues to create opportunities for meaningful dialogue and collective action.
See you on the next one!💜
