When violence reaches a place where children should feel safest, it leaves us asking: What more can we do for the young hearts entrusted to us?
There may be no single answer. Mental-health support and safer schools matter. But so do the things that begin at home: Being present, listening without judgment, discipline rooted in love, values formation, and a strong foundation of faith.
Children need to know that when fear, anger, sadness, or confusion becomes too heavy, they do not have to carry it alone. They can speak to someone they trust. And they can always talk to God.
This is the heart behind โWhere My Heart Meets Heaven: A Prayer Journal for Boys.โ
I created this journal to gently help young boys begin a prayer life through gratitude, Bible verses, prayers for others, personal prayers, and a space to doodle the thoughts they may not yet know how to express.
Because a prayer life is built little by little. It begins with a few honest words, offered day by day, until a child learns where to turn for strength, grace, peace, and hope.
Let us raise boys who know that courage does not mean keeping everything inside.
Sometimes, courage begins with a quiet prayer. ๐
