NAW Entry No. 05:
ARCHITECTURE IN A WORLD FULL OF BOUNDARIES
"Solo House III: Sunken Pyramids"
The resort dwelling's plan is to bring cutting-edge architecture to a rural setting. TNA has used a classic form-the pyramid-and cleverly inverted it to create a sense of weightlessness.
Large cutouts in the upper dwelling provide panoramic views over the landscape and the sleek interior is divided by mezzanines of different levels, which keep the open feeling of the pyramid, but clearly define living spaces.
The project designers is confined by the location, the laws of physics and the innate creativity. Consequently, TNA went to the drawing boards and emerged with an inverted pyramid concept that looks straight out of a futuristic arcade.
