The focus rests squarely on the interplay between permanent mass and shifting light. By observing how a hard, pitted stone face responds to an angled sun, the design highlights the tactile quality of a surface rather than a broad room configuration.

Sharp architectural shadows cut cleanly across the stone blocks, emphasizing the deep, organic imperfections of the material while creating a structured, high-contrast gradient. 📐✨

Grounding a design comes down to context.

For this project in Pacifico, Siargao, the foundation comes directly from the identity of the island, its world-class waves, pristine palm-fringed beaches, and a vibrant local culture rooted in raw island living.

The process started by mapping the actual elements that define daily life there. We leaned into the local materials, arts, and crafts, exploring how native bamboo, nipa, coconut, and rattan can shape modern architectural forms.

By aligning with the island’s natural rhythms and local activities, the architecture ends up feeling less like an imposition and more like a natural extension of the site. 🌴📐

The layout behaves as a deliberate gradient, filtering circulation from high-density public entry points into deeply secluded private villa zones. This process is about translating geographical raw form into structured hospitality architecture.

By mapping the site’s natural topography alongside the rigid 25-meter easement parameter, the plan anchors permanent modern geometries directly into the native island ecology. Every corridor, buffer zone, and spatial interval is computed to respect the raw site context while maintaining a disciplined architectural order.
